Perforation Patterns

Perforation patterns cut openings into a solid panel: round holes, slots, dissolving cells, Voronoi openings. They are what you send to the laser cutter or CNC for perforated metal façades, screens, ceilings and balustrades. The free Grasshopper scripts below vary the openings in different ways: by distance to a curve, along a gradient, inside a boundary, or at random. Each produces clean closed curves you can bake and send to fabrication. When you adapt them, keep an eye on the smallest opening and the narrowest bridge between holes, since those decide whether the panel can actually be made.
